Before you bring it in

Stop using the device. If a drive is clicking or grinding, do not power it back on to "check one more time" — that noise is physical damage, and every spin-up can make it worse.

If you deleted files by mistake, stop saving anything to that drive. Deleted data sits in place until something writes over it, so the less the drive is used, the more we can get back.

If a phone got wet, power it off and leave it off. Do not charge it. Rice does nothing. Get it to us as fast as you can — corrosion is the enemy, and it starts immediately.

Data recovery — common questions

Can you get my photos back?

Usually, yes — but it depends on how the device failed. Logical failures like a deleted folder or a corrupted file system recover well. Physical damage is harder. We evaluate it first and tell you honestly what is there before you commit to anything.

What does data recovery cost?

Diagnostics start at $79. Once we know what failed and what is recoverable, we quote the recovery itself and you decide from there. We do not start work you have not approved.

My drive is making a clicking noise. Should I keep trying?

No. Clicking usually means physical damage inside the drive, and every additional power-on risks making it permanently unrecoverable. Unplug it and bring it in as-is.

My phone got wet and will not turn on. Can you get the pictures off?

Often, yes — and speed matters enormously. Power it off, do not try to charge it, and get it to us as soon as possible. Corrosion is what does the real damage, and it starts right away.

Can you recover data if the laptop itself is dead?

Yes. A dead laptop does not mean a dead drive. We remove the drive and pull your files off it, then return them on media you can actually use.

Do I have to be in Maine?
