A graphics card is worth more than most of the computer around it, which makes "just replace it" an expensive first answer. Plenty of dead cards have a specific, findable fault — a failed power stage, a damaged port, a fan or thermal problem that has been cooking the card for months.

We work at board level. It is the same micro-soldering bench we use for PlayStation and Xbox HDMI port repair, and the same approach applies here: find the actual fault, fix that, and test the card under load before it goes back to you.

Worth repairing, or not?

We will give you a straight answer on that, because sometimes the honest one is no.

Cards where repair usually makes sense: a physically damaged port, a failed power stage, thermal problems, and fan or cooler failures. These are contained faults with a clear fix.

Cards where it often does not: a failed GPU core itself, or heavy corrosion across the board. When we find something like that, we tell you it is not worth your money rather than run up a bill on a card that will not come back.

Graphics card repair — common questions

Is it actually possible to repair a graphics card?

Often, yes. Many "dead" cards have a specific fault — a failed power stage, a damaged port, or a thermal problem — that can be repaired at board level. What is not usually worth repairing is a failed GPU core, and we will tell you when that is what we find.

What does GPU repair cost?

Board-level diagnostics start at $79. Once we find the fault we quote the repair itself and you decide before we go further.

My card shows coloured blocks and lines on screen. What is that?

That is artifacting, and it usually points to a memory fault or a card running far too hot. Both are worth diagnosing before you replace the card, because a thermal cause is very fixable.

Can you fix a broken HDMI or DisplayPort connector on the card?

Yes. Port repair is micro-soldering work, and it is the same bench and the same skill set we use for PlayStation and Xbox HDMI port repair.

The card gets very hot and my games crash. Can that be fixed?

Usually and often cheaply. Old thermal paste, dust-packed coolers and failing fans cause a large share of the overheating we see. A full clean, new thermal compound and a fan replacement fixes many of these cards.

Do you work on both NVIDIA and AMD cards?

Yes — the diagnostic and repair work is at board level, so it applies to both.
